A voice shaped by books and healing

Born with a love for books, Terri Brown spent her childhood in libraries and her adult years working among them. After nearly 30 years at the University of Kentucky’s main campus library, she returned to her first passion—writing. Her poetry, which began as a teenage outlet for navigating complex emotions, evolved into Soul Healing: Poems of Life, a collaborative collection with fellow poet Frieda Shepherd.

Terri’s verse speaks to universal experiences—love, loss, resilience, and the search for peace. Her work reflects a soul in constant dialogue with itself, transforming personal pain into words that comfort and connect. Now retired and dreaming of travel, she combines her love of photography with poetry, seeking new landscapes to inspire her next chapter.
